Maybe it was the first time you felt like a bona fide college student. The last time you smelled the sulfur in the lab. Or maybe it was something your professor said that soaked in and stayed with you through the years. Tell us, and tell your fellow Warriors, what you remember most about your college years at CSU Stanislaus. We’re building a collective memory bowl from which to share nostalgia in dollops. Read about those memories here...
“I was fortunate to have been on staff at SSC in the early days (1962-64) at the Fairgrounds, and then as a full-time student in 1972. I worked full time for Dr. Rudolph Ferguson; then, later for Dr. Joseph Bruggman at the Fairgrounds.
When I returned in 1972 as a student majoring in Biological Sciences at the new campus, I also worked part-time for Dr. Jerome Beamish (Counseling & Testing), and for Dr. Coulter (Music Dept.), and in the Speech Dept.
It was very special being part of a small family-type atmosphere at the Fairgrounds. I was part of the Stanettes, formed by the support staff.
To this day, I remain friends with the early staff members, Mary Jo Ferrise-Sai, Carol Anderson-Marttila, & Yvonne Baptiste-York. Several of us even attended Dr. Joseph Bruggman's 90th birthday party a couple of years back, held in Turlock. ”
