Archiving Course Content
Archive your Blackboard courses any time during the semester, and especially at the end of the semester for a complete backup of your course, including student assignments, grades, and communications. This archive file is only a backup of the entire course. It can be used to restore a course, if needed.

To Archive your Course:

  1. Log on to Blackboard.
  2. Navigate to the course to be archived.
  3. In the Course Options section of the Control Panel, select the Archive Course link. Then click Archive in the upper left corner of the Export/Archive Manager toolbar.
  4. Click the Submit button and you will get the following message: This action has been successfully queued. An email will be sent when the process is complete.
  5. Click OK and return to the Control Panel. When you have been notified this process was completed, click Archive Course to see the zip file link that was created.
  6. Control/right click the zip file link, select Save As (or similar wording), and save this file to a folder of your choice on your computer.
  7. The Remove button on the right side of the screen by the zip file link lets you delete this archive from the Bb server. Remove a file only after you saved the zip file to your computer.
