Fred Edmondson retires, Student Affairs division reorganizes
Fred EdmondsonDr. Fred Edmondson, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, retired in August after 30 years of dedicated service to the campus community.

His July 27 retirement party was widely attended by both past and present staff, faculty, and students. Edmondson’s leadership and counsel, both personally and professionally, were highly appreciated and will be sorely missed.

Edmondson and his wife, Gail, intend to travel and make the most of retirement.  Fortunately, he has promised to return to campus as needed and will direct the search for the Student Health Center Director this fall.

Fred EdmondsonIn light of Edmondson’s retirement, the Division of Student Affairs re-organized several units resulting in the appointment of Ronald Noble as the new Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. Noble has served the campus community for nearly 30 years and brings with him a rich source of institutional knowledge and history with an energy and vision for the future of the division. In addition to his Dean of Students duties, Noble will oversee the departments of Career Services, Counseling, Disability Support Services, and the Faculty Mentor Program.

Other changes resulting from the reorganization are the addition of duties and promotion of several excellent and experienced managers:

  • Jean Grech Condé:  Senior Director for Campus Life and Director of Housing and Residential Life.
  • Lee Renner: Senior Director for Retention and Advising and Director of the Advising Resource Center.
  • Melissa Borrelli:  Senior Director for Administration.
