FACULTY POSITION
California State University Stanislaus

POSITION: The Department of Criminal Justice invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The person appointed to this position will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of research methods, gender issues in criminal justice system, comparative criminal justice. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity and service are required for retention, promotion, and tenure.  This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.

The Criminal Justice Department offers a BA and an MA in Criminal Justice. With over 500 students, Criminal Justice is one of the largest majors on campus, offering undergraduate students the choice of five concentrations. The CSU Stanislaus Criminal Justice Department will be one of very few programs in the country to offer a concentration in Juvenile Justice. The department actively supports collaborative research among faculty members and encourages new faculty members to develop courses in their specialty areas.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
A PhD in Criminal Justice or a closely related discipline is required.  ABD’s will be considered if the Ph.D. is completed by the time of appointment.  Other minimum qualifications include a demonstrated record of or potential for research and publication.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
We especially seek candidates with expertise in gender issues in criminal justice system and comparative criminal justice.
