FACULTY POSITION
California State University Stanislaus

POSITION: PART-TIME, TEMPORARY FACULTY POSITION:  The Department of Theatre invites applications for a part-time, temporary faculty position at the rank of Lecturer.  The person appointed to this position will teach THEA 4350 Rehearsal and Performance, an advanced course for theatre major students.  Responsibilities include effective teaching in the specialized area of theatre arts.  The successful candidate must possess the knowledge and experience to direct a large cast in Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors, which will be performed in the Amphitheatre to potential audiences of 1000/performance. This is a Spring 2012 appointment. 
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
M.F.A. degree preferred.   Professional accomplishment commensurate to an advanced degree will be considered for those candidates whose professional/theatrical credentials demonstrate consistent, exceptional work in stage direction, play adaptation, and Shakespearean production.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
The preferred candidate should posses no less than 10 years of professional/theatrical credentials in direction (both Shakespearean and non-Shakespearean) and script adaptation.  Preference will also be shown to those candidates possessing background in acting and Renaissance faire performance.
