I am a professor at California State University, Stanislaus, where I teach in the credential and master's programs in Curriculum and Instruction within the College of Education. I am interested in the relationships between language, literacy, and learning in a pluralistic context.
My public school experience includes serving as teacher in Benson, Texas (1977-1985) and as Title VII Director at Davis Joint Unified School District (1985-1989). I received my Ph.D. in Educational Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A & M University. My scholarship activities includes articles published in some eight journals and publications and presentations at numerous state, national, and international academic organizations. My expertise is in the areas of curriculum design and pedagogy. At CSU Stanislaus I have taught Multilingual Education Evaluation; Theory of Multilingual Education; Foundations of Secondary Education; and Analysis and Strategies of Teaching. I have had the pleasure of supervising over 35 thesis and graduation projects at CSU Stanislaus.
