Dr. Hamid Shirvani, President of CSU Stanislaus, Comments on the Governor’s May Revise
"We are very pleased and grateful that the Governor has restored almost $100 Million for California State University in his May Revise. It shows that he appreciates the value of higher education, and it’s obviously one of his priorities. I congratulate all my colleagues in the Alliance for the CSU for achieving such a success through our unified advocacy efforts. We are going to continue our efforts as the Alliance to urge the Legislature and Governor to restore full funding for CSU because the remaining cuts will have a significant impact on student access and our ability to provide graduates for the workforce. At CSU Stanislaus, we estimate approximately 200 fewer students will be admitted due to budget cuts and approximately 1,700 fewer seats will be available in classrooms."
