We encourage parents of prospective students to visit StanState during College For A Weekend! We will be hosting an informal "reception" location in our Housing Gameroom from 4-6p.m. on Thursday. This venue will provide general information about the CFAW schedule, introduce you to some of the housing staff and allow you to learn more about our campus and community. You are also encouraged to attend the Warrior Welcome program on Saturday with your student.
You will not be permitted to stay in the residence halls. It is highly recommended that you accompany your student to Check-In, enjoy the Parent Reception and then return to campus on Saturday, leaving your child to “experience college” on Friday!
Don't forget to check out our new bookstore and partake in the beauty of our campus while you are here!
Will my student be safe?
Yes. Your student will be escorted by a Host who will be aware of your student’s whereabouts at all times. In addition, your student will have access to the Housing Office at any time if they have a question or forget where they need to be.
Hosts must go through an application proces and be approved to host your student. Our goal is to place CFAW participants with hosts who enjoy CSU Stanislaus, are excited to share their love of college and eager to help their CFAWer have a safe and wonderful experience throughout the program.
In addition to this, all the Resident Assistants, Peer Academic Leaders, Senior Staff and Campus Police are aware of this event and will be alert to all CFAWers. Lastly, we make it a point to help CFAWers connect on the first night, so not only will they have Stan State students looking out for them, but they will have other CFAWers with whom they can attend events.
