You often can hear Big Baba (Phra Ajahn Withoon Putamee Arjarasupoh) saying, “Don’t worry.  No problem.  Be happy.” as well as “Try to think positive things at all times.”

Big Baba (Phra Ajahn Withoon Putamee Arjarasupoh) is an eminent Vipassana meditation teacher and a Theravada Buddhist monk (July 7, 1979 to present).  He has studied the tradition of Theravada Buddhism with his Master Luang Por Jumnian for over 30 years.

Luang Por Jumnian Seelasettho is one of the most highly revered meditation masters in the Theravada tradition.  Luang Por Jumnian teaches many methods of Vipassana meditation.  The detailed story of Luang Por Jumnian is highlighted in this Biography.

Big Baba (Phra Ajahn Withoon Putamee Arjarasupoh) was the first official Abbot of Wat Tham Sua (Tiger’s Cave Monastery), Krabi, Thailand.  Currently, he has two meditation centers in Thailand:  Thalaythip La-Ong Manee Meditation Center and Suanpa Thipmongkol Seangtham Meditation Center.

During a pilgrimage to India in 2005 with Luang Por Jumnian and Phra Ajahn Ngam, Phra Ajahn Withoon Putamee Arjarasupoh (Big Baba) was inspired by his visit to the BLACK BUDDHA image in the village of Baragaon near the ancient site of Nalanda University.  He envisioned a plan for providing more comfortable road access and parking for pilgrims, toilet facilities, solar generated energy, a drinking water system for the pilgrims and local community, a temple for the BLACK BUDDHA, and a marble clad temple.  He continues to be successful in this regard.

The full account of his vision for current and future improvement projects is described in this Biography:  the BLACK BUDDHA Project, the Venuvan Vihara Bamboo Forest Project, the Maha Kassapa Vihara Silao Project, the Muchilinda Pond Project, and the Uruvela Kassapa Place Project.
