Linda Acredolo, Professor of Psychology at the University of California at Davis, is an internationally recognized scholar in the field of child development. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Bucknell University, she received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota, specializing in cognitive development of very young children. Over the course of her academic career she has published more than 40 scholarly articles, has presented her findings in countless formal and informal settings, and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. Formerly the Associate Editor of the leading professional journal, Child Development, she is currently serving as Secretary for the Society for Research in Child Development. In 1992 she was the recipient of the University of California's Distinguished Teaching Award.
