Science 1 Building Reopens After Renovation

Science 1 BuildingThe Science 1 Building at CSU Stanislaus reopened for classes with the start of the spring semester last month, following a two-year seismic retrofitting and extensive renovation project.

One of the oldest buildings on campus, Science 1 had its interior completely remodeled during construction, adding eight new classrooms and an open computer lab to the original floor plan.

Blind Music Alumna Returns for Recital

Rachel GriderRachel Grider found guidance and mentoring as a CSU Stanislaus student and has since built a successful career both in academics and in the professional world. Grider, who is blind, has also continued to grow as a performer, and she’ll return to campus March 14 to perform a recital of 19th-century Russian songs and arias in the Bernell and Flora Snider Music Recital Hall.

Economy Expected To Maintain Momentum

The San Joaquin Valley economy has made progress toward pre-recession levels in the past year and will continue to improve in 2014 and 2015, according to a report from Gökçe Soydemir, the CSU Stanislaus Foster Farms Endowed Professor of Business Economics.

Future Teacher Finds Life Lessons in Hardship

Chanel MartinsFive years ago, Chanel Martins was recovering from a horrific car accident that left her unable to walk; today, she’s nearly fully recovered from her injuries. She’s also a semester away from earning her teaching credential at CSU Stanislaus and was recently chosen for a newly created student liaison position in the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
